Detail Program

The flight to Paro crosses the Himalayan Mountains, affording spectacular views of the awesome peaks, including the sacred Jomolhari and Jichu Drake peaks in Bhutan, after the completion of check in formalities in airport. Guide and driver will escort to hotel. Briefing. Depending on the time, the sightseeing includes - Local market, festival markets the display of textiles local and imported, games and food stalls. Overnight in hotel.

Taktsang the tiger nest monastery is the most iconic and sacred Buddhist site in the World. It is dramatically perched on sheer cliff face, about 900 m above the Paro valley. It is one of the most beautiful hiking trail for its pristine forest and views.
Hiking distance ( round trip) approximately 6kms/3.7miles. Time 5 to 6 hrs including guided tour in monastery.
After lunch, witness the festivals. There will be masked and folk dances, local people will be gathered in their finest cloths and jewelries. Enjoy the festival.
Overnight same hotel.

The Thongdrol ( Large religious banner) ceremony starts from early morning at 5 am, in ceremonial procession by monks and civil servants. The banner is said to be oldest in that size in the country. After breakfast, Drive to Punakha with a stop over on Dochula pass, on the clear day, one could see the snow capped peaks, we have 108 stupas built in memories of flush out operation of 2002. You will experience the drastic change in vegetation and landscape which itself a treat for eyes. Visit temple of fertility, Punakha Dzong and suspension bridge. Overnight in Punakha.
Altitude- 1350 m. Temperature Max 24.9; Min 13.8. Paro to Punakha Distance - 114 kms. Time - 3.5 hrs. 

Explore Punakha with a hike to Khansum yurley Namgyel temple, Talo monastery, Nalanda Buddhist Institute and Wolakha nunnery. Overnight in Punakha. 

After breakfast, we drive to Bumthang, We cross over a Pele pass before we have a lunch at Chendebji tourist restaurant or Trongsa depending on our time, further drive to region of Trongsa, with the stop to visit Tower of Trongsa museum, we continue drive, visit textile handloom center where the old art of weaving is still practiced, this region is famous for the special fabric called Yathra. Overnight in Bumthang. Distance - 212 kms, Time - 6 hrs. Altitude- 2800 M, Temperature in April - Max - 18, Min - 8. 

Sightseeing includes visit to the following: And Nimalung festival.
• Jambay Lhakhang, built in the 7th century by the King Songtsen Goempo of Tibet. In his effort to propagate Buddhism he had a plan to build a total of 108 temples in Tibet and neighboring kingdoms.
• Chakhar Lhakhang. Besides the main road, a short distance beyond Jambay Temple is Chakhar (Iron Castle) Lhakhang. Although it is easy to mistake it for a house and drive right by, this is an interesting temple and is worth a short visit. It is one of the 108 monasteries built by him to subdue evil spirits in the Himalayan region.
• Kujey Lhakhang (Kujey means, "Body imprint"). The temple to the right is the oldest and was built by Minjur Tempa in 1652. It was built around the cave in which Guru Rimpoche meditated and left his body imprint.
• Tamshing Lhakhang. This temple is also known as Tamshing Lhendrup Chholing (Temple of the Good Message).
• Jakar Dzong, "castle of the white bird". According to legend, when the lamas assembled in about 1549 to select a site for a monastery, a big white bird rose suddenly in the air and settled on a spur of a hill. This was interpreted as an important omen, and the hill was chosen as the site for a monastery and for Jakar Dzong. The fortress is now used as an administrative center of the valley and summer residence of Trongsa monks.In the evening stroll around the beautiful landscape of the Bumthang Jakar valley. Dinner and overnight in Bumthang. Overnight in same hotel.

Morning start the journey to Phobjikha, en-route visit Trongsa Dzong, In Phobjikha visit Gantey Gompa monastery and hike natural trail hike to hotel. Overnight in Phobjikha valley.
Altitude - 3000 m; Temperature - Max- 19, Min 10. 

Drive same way to Thimphu and visit Big Buddha point, Memorial stupa, Tashicho dzong, town centre and weekend local market. Don’t miss the iconic traffic policemen.
Altitude : 2400m Température Max 20; Min 7.
Phobjikha to Thimphu distance - 130 KMS, Time - 3.5 hrs. 

On Monday all the museums and school resume from weekend, visit Folk Heritage Museum, School of 13 arts and crafts, Takin park, nunnery, textile weaving center, handmade paper unit, craft market, simple Bhutan. Overnight in Thimphu.

Defending on your flight timing, drive to Airport. Your guide and driver will bid your farewell.

NOTE:- This Festival tour can also start with Thimphu first and Paro last with festival, with arrival on 24th March and depart at 2nd April.
