Tamzhing Phala Choepa

Tamzhing Phala Choepa is done on 10th to 12th day of 8th Bhutanese month. The annual Tamzhing Phala Choepa held at the Tamzhing monastery in Bumthang is a festival associated with the construction of Tamzhing monastery in the 16th century. This festival has a unique mask dance as it is performed by monks resembling Terton Pema Lingpa, wearing a mask of a pig, sculpted himself. And also, Khandroi Gar cham a 500-year-old dance is performed. People from different parts of Bumthang and also from other parts of the country gather to witness the dance of Terton.
