Wangdue Tsechu

The Wangdue Tsechu is held in Wangdue Phodrang and is observed for three days. It is celebrated on 8th to 10th day of 8th month of Bhutanese calendar. The Tsechu is held in remembrance of Guru Rinpoche who brought Buddhism to Bhutan. Wangdue Tsechu is well known for the Raksha Mangcham (the dance of ox). People across the country comes together to celebrate Wangdue Tsechu and it is considered one of the most important Tsechu.
